Muhammad Zhillan Averous

Junior Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer

Seeking junior roles and internships · Available immediately in Seville · Open to relocation from February 2027

I build and operate infrastructure to learn the work, not just the theory.

I am a fourth-year Computer Science student at Universidad de Sevilla, specialising in Computing. I run a three-node bare-metal k3s cluster with GitOps delivery, queue-driven autoscaling, monitoring, and deliberate failure scenarios to understand how systems behave under pressure.

Selected work

Projects are presented as evidence: what was built, why decisions were made, and what was tested.

01

Featured case study

Three-node Kubernetes homelab

A mixed-architecture k3s cluster on repurposed hardware. Flux reconciles the desired state, workloads follow hardware constraints, and a queue-driven demo makes autoscaling and memory pressure observable.

k3s · FluxCD · KEDA · Prometheus · Grafana · SOPS

  • GitOps-managed cluster state
  • Queue depth drives worker scaling from 1 to 5 replicas
  • Prometheus and Grafana expose node and workload behaviour

02

Exploration in progress

Company OS

Exploring how a small organisation could reduce SaaS sprawl by bringing identity, internal knowledge, and workflow automation into one maintainable self-hosted environment.

Self-hosting · Identity · Knowledge systems

  • Scope and architecture are still being documented

03

Case study in progress

Wazuh security monitoring lab

A learning deployment focused on centralised log collection, file integrity monitoring, alert rules, and understanding the operational cost of a SIEM.

Technical skills, with context

Tools are grouped by where I have used or studied them—not presented as an abstract logo wall.

Containers

Docker · Kubernetes · k3s · Helm · Kustomize

Used to build and operate the homelab cluster and its workloads.

Automation & GitOps

FluxCD · GitHub Actions · Bash

Git-based reconciliation and multi-architecture container build pipelines.

Infrastructure

Linux · DNS · TLS · Traefik · Cloudflare Tunnel

Cluster networking, private LAN services, certificates, and outbound-only public exposure.

Observability & security

Prometheus · Grafana · Headlamp · SOPS · cert-manager · Wazuh

Monitoring and secrets management in the homelab; Wazuh used in a separate learning lab.

Development

Go · TypeScript · React · Next.js

Small services, queue workers, interfaces, and this portfolio.
